Cabell Huntington Hospital Welcomes First Baby of 2025

Marshall Health Network-Cabell Huntington Hospital celebrated the arrival of the first baby born in the New Year on January 1, 2025, at 12:28 a.m.

Adalyn was welcomed into the world, weighing five pounds, 15 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches in length. The delivery was performed by Katherine Billups, MD. 

“Cabell Huntington Hospital is honored to share in this special moment and offers its heartfelt congratulations to the family. We are thrilled to celebrate the first birth of the year with baby Adalyn and her family,” said Melanie Akers, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, vice president of Women’s and Children’s Services at Marshall Health Network.  

“Moments like these truly represent hope and new beginnings. We wish the family much happiness as they welcome their new bundle of joy into the world.”

The hospital extends its gratitude to the dedicated medical team who played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth delivery of the New Year’s baby. The family was gifted a gift card to celebrate their new arrival.
