To request a telehealth appointment, call your provider's office directly or send a message through your myHealthFile patient portal at Cabell Huntington Hospital or MyHealth/IQHealth at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Step 1: Before your visit, we will send you a text or email with a link to join.
Step 2: Enter the requested information, then complete a quick guided tech check to ensure that your device, camera, and microphone are ready. You can also use this helpful Pre-Visit Checklist to make sure your device is ready for your virtual visit.
Step 3: You will then be brought directly into the visit where you will wait for the provider to join. The visit starts when both you and the provider join. While you wait, the screen will say “You’re Connected. Please wait for others to join.”
You can invite family members to the visit to participate in your care journey and chat with your provider using the buttons at the bottom of your screen. If you encounter any issues or have been waiting for a long time, call your provider’s office for assistance.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you receive more than one invitation from your provider for your telehealth visit, please enter the most recent. After you have joined the visit, if your provider does not appear within 10 minutes, please notify the provider’s office.
If you encounter any issues or have been waiting for a long time, reach out to your provider’s office for assistance.
Meet Beverly
When her young daughter woke up feeling unwell, Beverly Gagnon, RN, BSN, nursing peer review coordinator at St. Mary’s Medical Center, faced a dilemma many parents know all too well—how to get medical care quickly while balancing work and family responsibilities. But thanks to Marshall Health Network’s Tele-NOW Care telehealth program, she had a solution right at her fingertips.
Rather than worrying about rearranging her schedule or making an unnecessary urgent care visit, Beverly used the telehealth service to connect with a provider instantly, without even needing to be in the same room as her daughter.
“We didn’t want to sit in a waiting room and be exposed to any other illnesses going around at that time and both my husband and I had busy workdays that we could not miss,” Beverly said. “Tele-NOW was the perfect option because I could join the visit from work on my own smartphone while our daughter was with our family member.”
Within just a few minutes, the Gagnons were able to see a provider who took their medical history, diagnosed Beverly’s daughter and sent them on their way with a prescription.
Beverly said she understands there may be hesitation getting medical care over the a video call versus a traditional office visit, but said staff was professional and all you need is a computer, tablet or smartphone, and a reliable internet connection.
“Even if you do not feel comfortable with technology, the staff go above and beyond to explain the process,” she said. “Being able to participate in my loved one’s care while at work and they are at home was super easy. I would definitely recommend Tele-NOW for care.”
