Friday, February 28, 2025
Shannon Browning, RPh, MD, has been named chief medical information officer (CMIO) for Marshall Health Network (MHN). In her role as MHN CMIO, Browning will foster physician engagement and alignment with clinical information technology, while guiding the design of systems, clinical content and operational processes to enhance patient care.
“We are excited to have Dr. Browning step into this role for Marshall Health Network," said Larry Dial, MD, chief physician executive, MHN. "Her extensive experience as both a clinician and a leader in health technology will help drive our mission of improving patient care through innovative use of clinical information technology, like our electronic health records."
Browning most recently served as the first CMIO for Marshall Health. She is double board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics and is also trained as a registered pharmacist. She graduated from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, where she also completed her internal medicine-pediatrics residency and joined the faculty.
Browning will continue to see patients at the Erma Orma Byrd Clinical Center. Eduardo Pino, MD, who announced his retirement last summer, will remain to assist her transition and onboarding.
