Marshall Health Network (MHN) recognizes two leaders who have graduated from the West Virginia Hospital Association’s (WVHA) Hospital Leadership Academy. Maeghan Neal, executive director of budget, integration and medical school liaison at MHN, and Wendy Maynard, director of quality and accreditation, infection prevention and behavioral health at St. Mary’s Medical Center, were honored at the program’s graduation ceremony at Stonewall Resort Friday, May 16.
The WVHA’s Hospital Leadership Academy’s mission is to prepare hospital employees to effectively lead transformation in their organizations. The program offers opportunities to broaden leaders’ knowledge of the complexities of health care in West Virginia and beyond, along with real-world experiences that extend outside of what they might encounter in their day-to-day roles.
The Academy offers participants the opportunity to engage in a curriculum that packages foundational leadership skills and targeted health care issues with visits to health care facilities across the state, interactive discussions with hospital CEOs, and networking with peers and colleagues from across the state.
“We are incredibly proud of Maeghan and Wendy for completing this prestigious program,” said Scott Raynes, President and CEO of MHN. “Their dedication to professional growth and leadership reflects the values of our organization and our commitment to advancing health care in the region. Through our strong partnership with the WVHA, we can invest in leadership development opportunities like the Leadership Academy that help grow our region's future health care leaders.”
