Dr. Christine Gilkerson named Medical Director of Clinical Efficiency and Patient Flow at St. Mary’s Medical Center

Dr. Christine Gilkerson
Christine Gilkerson, MD, has been named Medical Director of Clinical Efficiency and Patient Flow at Marshall Health Network-St. Mary’s Medical Center (SMMC). In this new role, Gilkerson will work with hospital teams to help patients return home or transition to the next stage of their care more smoothly and without unnecessary delays.

Gilkerson has been providing care to SMMC patients for more than 21 years. She has actively contributed to key hospital committees, collaborated with teaching services, and demonstrated deep expertise in inpatient care. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. She serves as Associate Professor of Medicine at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, where she also completed her medical education and residency training.
