Marshall Health Network hospitals nationally recognized for high-quality stroke and cardiovascular care

The American Heart Association (AHA) presents the Get With The Guidelines® awards for proven dedication to best practices and life-saving care 

 

Marshall Health Network-St. Mary’s Medical Center (SMMC) and Marshall Health Network-Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) have again earned multiple American Heart AssociationGet With the Guidelines®achievement awards for their commitment to delivering evidence-based care for heart disease, stroke and resuscitation. The awards recognize hospitals that consistently follow the latest clinical guidelines, helping improve patient outcomes through more lives saved, faster recoveries and fewer hospital readmissions. 

 

SMMC, home of the St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute and the St. Mary’s Regional Comprehensive Stroke Center, received the following achievement awards this year: 

 

Stroke Care 
Get With the Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus (16th consecutive year) 
Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus  

Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll 

 

Heart Failure Care 
Get With the Guidelines – Heart Failure Gold Plus (13th consecutive year) 
Target: Heart Failure Optimal

Resuscitation Care 

Get With the Guidelines – Resuscitation Gold – Adult (Ninth consecutive year) 

 

This year, CHH received the following achievement awards: 

Stroke Care 
Get With the Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus (11th consecutive year) 
Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite 

Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll (7th consecutive year)

Resuscitation Care

Get With the Guidelines - Resuscitation Target Survival-Pediatric

Get With The Guidelines puts the expertise of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to work for hospitals nationwide, helping ensure patient care is aligned with the latest research- and evidence-based guidelines. Get With The Guidelines - Stroke is an in-hospital program for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to these guidelines, which can minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and even prevent death.
