Marshall Health Network's Center for Surgical Weight Control earns Optum Center of Excellence designation

Marshall Health Network-Cabell Huntington Hospital's (CHH) Center for Surgical Weight Control has earned designation as an Optum Center of Excellence for bariatric care, recognizing the program's commitment to high-quality patient care, clinical outcomes and comprehensive weight management services.

The designation recognizes bariatric programs that meet Optum's established standards for quality, patient safety, clinical outcomes and coordinated care. It reflects the center's commitment to providing evidence-based surgical weight loss treatments and individualized support for patients living with obesity.

"This recognition reflects our team's dedication to providing safe, effective and personalized care for patients struggling with obesity," said Semeret Munie, MD, FACS, bariatric surgeon and medical director of the CHH Center for Surgical Weight Control. "Bariatric surgery can be life-changing, and our goal is to help patients improve their overall health and quality of life through comprehensive care and long-term support."

The CHH Center for Surgical Weight Control offers a multidisciplinary approach to bariatric care, bringing together specialized providers and support services to help patients achieve long-term health and weight management goals. The Optum designation further strengthens the program's commitment to delivering comprehensive care throughout each patient's weight loss journey.

As an Optum Center of Excellence, the program may also benefit from expanded collaboration with Optum partners, including additional clinical resources and support services.
