Marshall Health Network-Rivers Health (RH) has named Shawn Bastin, MBA, MPT, as its new President, effective December 3.

In this role, Bastin will lead day-to-day operations at Rivers Health and serve on the MHN leadership team. His responsibilities include advancing the hospital’s strategic goals, fostering collaboration with physicians, staff and community partners, overseeing hospital facilities and construction projects, and advancing MHN’s mission and vision. Bastin joined RH in 2023 as executive director of ancillary professional and support services and has served as Interim President since August 2025.

“Shawn is the ideal choice for the future of Rivers Health,” said Regina Campbell, RN, MSN, Chief Operating Officer, MHN. “His deep experience within our system, combined with his commitment to Mason County and the communities we serve, uniquely positions him to guide Rivers Health forward. As the hospital continues to grow with the region, we are pleased that Shawn has embraced this opportunity to make a meaningful impact.”

Before joining RH, Bastin held leadership roles at Cabell Huntington Hospital beginning in 2007, most recently as executive director overseeing rehabilitation services, the SMART Center and the Marshall Sports Medicine Institute. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Charleston and a Master of Physical Therapy from West Virginia University.

“I’m truly humbled by the support and confidence the RH board and MHN leadership have placed in me,” Bastin said. “Rivers Health has expanded significantly in recent years, adding services and specialties so patients can receive high-quality care close to home. Construction of the new emergency department is progressing on schedule, and we look forward to opening it in summer 2026.”
