Larry Hutchison, MD, MBA, and Jeffrey Leaberry, MD, have been named Vice President and Associate Vice President of Medical Affairs for St. Mary’s Medical Center (SMMC).
As Vice President of Medical Affairs, Dr. Hutchison will work with the medical staff to coordinate its activities, functions and duties in order to develop and implement an effective and efficient organization responsible for highly reliable medical care. He will also maintain a leadership role in the SMMC emergency department, while continuing as a physician in the SMMC ER. In his role as Associate Vice President of Medical Affairs, Dr. Leaberry will provide support to Dr. Hutchison and the medical staff, while continuing as an anesthesiologist at SMMC.
“I am pleased to have Dr. Hutchison and Dr. Leaberry serving in these key leadership roles,” said Angie Swearingen, COO, SMMC. “Both are longtime physicians and leaders at St. Mary’s and their collaboration with our medical staff will support high-quality patient care for all we serve.”
Dr. Hutchison received his medical degree from the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and his physician executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. An anesthesiologist with River Cities Anesthesia, Inc., Dr. Leaberry received his medical degree from the Marshall School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Kentucky.
